A total of 11 schools competed in the 27-hole tournament with John Carroll tallying a score of 436 to claim first place. The Blue Streaks shot a 148 on the Maple nine holes, then a 288 on the Lake-River 18 holes. Owens carded a 145 on the Maple, but a 293 on the Lake-River for a final 27-hole total of 438.

Baldwin-Wallace College (440) finished third and John Carroll-B (443) was fourth, while 2007 champion Lakeland Community College and Albion College tied for fifth (458)

On an individual front, Chris Hummer of Owens won medalist honors with a score of 106, which was one under par. He shot a par 35 on the Maple, but a one-under 71 on the Lake-River to edge Blake Fergurson of John Carroll and Tyler Fitch of Grove City for the championship by a single stroke.

Fergurson had the best round of the day on the Lake-River with a 70, and his 37 on the Maple gave him a 107 -- good for even par. Fitch had the best round of the day on the Maple with a 33. He carded a 74 on the Lake-River for his 107.

Mike Jenior of Baldwin-Wallace and Ted Padezanin of John Carroll-B tied for fourth with one over par scores of 108. 

The Pat Flowers Invitational began in 1994, and has been held every year since. All but the 2007 tournament were held at Fowler's Mill Golf Course, and all but the 2003 tournament (washed out by excessive rain) were conducted as scheduled.
