John Carroll Men Place 15th At All-Ohio Cross Country Championships

The John Carroll men's team placed 15th out of 20 school in the Division III standings and 31st out of 38 teams spanning all divisions at the 2009 Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships held at the Methodist Theological School and Delaware Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.

In the final Division III team standings, Ohio Northern (65 points) won the Division III title for the second time in three years by edging fellow Ohio Athletic Conference school Heidelberg (66 points). John Carroll scored 435 points to place 15th.
Individually,
Jacob Smith (New Richmond, OH, Covington Latin) led the Blue Streaks for the fifth time in as many races. His time of 27.16.8 earned him 60th place.
Nick Wojtasik (Erie, PA, Mercyhurst Prep) placed second for the Blue Streaks for the first time in his freshman season with JCU. he clocked in at 30:03.3 to finish 81st.
Pat Burns (Solon, OH, Solon ), another freshman, crossed in 86th place with a mark of 30:12.4, while Jeff Sigmund squeezed into the top 100 and 96th place with a time of 30:29.6
