Sophomore
James Ranallo (Willoughby, OH, Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin) became the second Blue Streak in as many weeks to earn the Men's Swimmer of the Week award from the Ohio Athletic Conference due to his efforts at the Veale Classic this past weekend.
One week after
Eric Davis (Canfield, OH, Canfield) picked up the honor, Ranallo followed up with a solid weekend against Case Reserve and Oberlin.
In facing Oberlin Saturday, Ranallo had two individual first place finishes, winning the 200 Free (1:49.39) and the 500 Free (4:58.35). His efforts helped John Carroll win the meet by a 146-87 score.
Ranallo also had a pair of second place finishes individually against Case to go along with a win in a relay Friday night. He teamed up with Davis,
Alex Vereshchagin (Solon, OH, Solon), and
Nicholas Grady (Cleveland, OH, St. Ignatius) to win the 200 Free Relay in a time of 1:29.88.
This is Ranallo's first collegiate swimmer of the week honor as a Blue Streak.
