Junior Joe Ciacchi was one of two Blue Streaks named to the Academic All-OAC team for their efforts in the classroom.
On Thursday, it was announced that a pair of JCU men's soccer players received awards for efforts in the classroom. Junior
Joe Ciacchi (North Royalton, OH, North Royalton) and sophomore
Jake Milli (North Royalton, OH, Walsh Jesuit) both were named Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention.
Ciacchi, a product of North Royalton High School, carries a 3.37 GPA in his Finance major. Milli, also from North Royalton but an alum of Walsh Jesuit, boasts a 3.53 GPA in Accounting.
On the field, Ciacchi was in the starting lineup in 14 of the 17 games he appeared in. His three goals and three assists totaled nine points for the year, fifth best on the team.
Milli was a key member for the Blue Streaks defensive unit that recorded seven shutouts this season. He started 17 of 18 games in his second season, and recorded three assists on the year.
In order to be named to the Academic All-OAC team, the student-athlete must have maintained a GPA of 3.25 or higher and be in at least his second year of participation. Additionally, the student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve who has made a significant athletic impact.
