Micca And Stevenson Represent John Carroll On 2009 Academic All-OAC Football Team

John Carroll University senior linemen Joseph Micca and Brian Stevenson were selected for the 2009 All-Academic OAC Football Team. 

Both players are repeat selectiosn to the Academic All-OAC winners list, and were part of an offensive line that had only allowed a league-low eight sacks this past season.

Micca is an Exercise Science major who carries a 3.92 grade point average. A senior from Rochester, New York, he was the team's starting center for the last two seasons and will earn his second varsity letter.

Stevenson, a senior from Mentor, Ohio, is an Education major who carries a 3.83 grade point average. As an offensive guard, Stevenson will earn his third varsity letter this season. Stevenson played in every game for the past two seasons.

Both players also received Acedemic All-American honors from ESPN The Magazine on November 6. 

The Academic All-OAc football winners were voted on by faculty representatives from all conference schools. Nominees must carry a minimum 3.25 GPA and be a sophomore academically. Additionally, the nominees must have been starters or reserves that have made a significant team impact.

 Josh McDaniels who played at JCU in the 1990's is the head coach for the Denver Broncos and was part of three Super Bowl wins when with the New England Patriots.

In 1948, legend Don Shula has the best rushing average in a season with 6.6 yards a carry for John Carroll.

  In 1994, Ryan Haley averaged 42.8 yards a punt.

Coach Tony DeCarlo from 1987-1998 had a football coaching record of 90-27-4 for his career.

Carl Taseff in 1950 scored 23 touchdowns in a single season.
Arth Completes Passes at Will
In 2000, quarterback Tom Arth vs. Ohio Northern completed 42 passes on the day to go along with a rediculous stat of 453 passing yards to go with it.
