Former John Carroll University All-American London Fletcher was named to the National Football League All-Decade Team as selected by Sports Illustrated.

Peter King, one of America's premier pro football writers, selected the team and made a point to emphasize leadership. "On defense, I've picked so many good leaders," wrote King. "There'll be no motivation shortage when this D takes the field."

Fletcher, the only player ont he team from a Division III institution, was picked by King "not only because of his production but also for his durability and leadership."

Also named to the All-Decade team was Indianapolis Colts General Manager Bill Polian, who sent two of his sons, Chris ('93) and Brian ('97) to John Carroll University where both played football for the Blue Streaks.
