It was not the storybook ending the John Carroll men's track & field team was looking for as the Blue Streaks ended up in ninth place at the OAC Championship Saturday in Wilmington, Ohio.

With injuries and illness sabotaging a grat start to the season, JCU managed to tally 23 points over the course of the two day event. Ohio Northern won the title with 172 points.

The Blue Streaks were led by David Hickey (Stow, OH, Akron St. Vincent - St. Mary) and his runner-up effort in the 400 hurdles. For the second straight year, Hickey would earn All-OAC status by taking second in the 2009 final with a time of 53.54, just .10 of a second behind champion joe Yoder of Heidelberg.

Raj Arasu (Tampa, FL, Tampa Catholic) had a near miss in his 100-meter dash final, as he placed fourth in a time of 11.38.

Michael Hlatky (Brooklyn Heights, OH, Cleveland St. Ignatius) had the best field event finish by a Blue Streak, as he took sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.84 meters.
