Julie Marlowe Named Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
Julie Marlowe was rewarded for her excellence both on and off the softball diamond in 2009

John Carroll University junior Julie Marlowe was named to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Softball Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom this year.
Marlowe, a Business Information Systems major who carries a 3.77 grade point average, earned second team accolades on the All-District IV team, which is comprised of colleges and universities in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
In playing and starting all 39 games this season, Marlowe batted .371 with team-leading totals in hits (52) and runs scored (30). of her 52 hits, nine were doubles, four were triples, and one was a home run.
A member of the JCU Student Union Planning Board and the school's gospel choir, Marlowe has made the Dean's List all six semesters.
This is Marlowe's first selection to the Academic All-District Team.
Nominees for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American program must be key contributors in their sports with at least a 3.30 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their career. In addition, the student-athletes must also have at least sophomore athlethic and academic standing.
