Four Streaks Tabbed For Classroom Excellence As 2009 Academic All-OAC Baseball Team Released

Adam Jenkins is one of four Blue Streaks listed on the 2009 Academic All-OAC Baseball team
One senior, one junior and two sophomores represent the John Carroll program on the 2009 Academic All-OAC Baseball Team.

Sophomore Tom Schaberl and junior Adam Jenkins were named Academic All-OAC, while sophomore John Hastings and senior Adam Milanovich were tabbed honorable mention.

Schaberl, who carries a 3.82 grade point average as an Accounting major, is a first time Academic All-OAC honoree. He was 5-1 with a 5.40 ERA as a starting pitcher in 2009, and tallied a team-high 50 strikeouts

Jenkins, who owns a 3.57 grade point average as a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major, is also being honored for the first time in her career. John Carroll's designated closer, Jenkins concluded the campaign with a 0-1 record, a 3.00 ERA and three saves.

Hastings and Milanovich are both infielders by trade. Hastings, a shortstop, batted .292 in 21 games, and carries a 3.61 GPA as a communications major. Milovich, who split time as a catcher and first baseman, batted .286 in 24 games. He is a Finance major with a 3.58 GPA.

To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his second year of participation in the sport.

On July 15, 2000, Brian Unk became the first John Carroll graduate to win an event on the Canadian Professional Golf Tour, capturing the $125,000 Eagle Creek Classic, played at the par-72, 7,067-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club in Ottawa, Ontario.
