Marlowe And Vistocco Tabbed To 2009 Academic All-OAC Softball Squad

Angelo Vistocco followed a solid year on the diamond with a spot on the Academic All-OAC softball squad
Junior Julie Marlowe and sophomore Angela Vistocco were John Carroll's two representative on the 2009 Academic All-OAC Softball Team.

Marlowe, a Business Information Systems major who carries a 3.77 grade point average, earned second team accolades on the All-District IV team in addition to her Academic All-OAC accolades. In 2009, she batted .371 with team-leading totals in hits (52) and runs scored (30). 

Vistocco, the owner of a 3.74 grade point average as an Accounting major, was named an Academic All-OAC honorable mention. Appearing in all 39 games, Vistocco batted .296 with 20 RBI.

To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.

Unk Conquers Eagle Creek
On July 15, 2000, Brian Unk became the first John Carroll graduate to win an event on the Canadian Professional Golf Tour, capturing the $125,000 Eagle Creek Classic, played at the par-72, 7,067-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club in Ottawa, Ontario.
