Ben Adams Earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Accolades

Ben Adams picked up his final honor of 2008-09 by earning a spot on the Academic All-District IV team
Ben Adams picked up yet another honors for his 2008-09 season, as he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV men's at-large college division second team. 

Adams, who was voted onto the All-District IV squad along with fellow Blue Streak James Steward from the men's tennis team, was one of 22 student-athletes selected for this honor. The at-large classification covers the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

A two-time Academic All-OAC award winner, Adams earned his first Academic All-District recognition as an Economics/Finance double major with a 3.68 GPA, Adams won his second consecutive 184-pound Ohio Athletic Conference title and qualified for his second national championship tournament this season

Nominees for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American program must be key contributors in their sport with at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their career. In addition, the student-athletes must also have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing.

Unk Conquers Eagle Creek
On July 15, 2000, Brian Unk became the first John Carroll graduate to win an event on the Canadian Professional Golf Tour, capturing the $125,000 Eagle Creek Classic, played at the par-72, 7,067-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club in Ottawa, Ontario.
