Blue Streak Men Claim Fourth Place At Competitive Sayre Invitational

The young Blue Streak men's cross country team continued along its learning curve in the second meet of the season, placing fourth out of seven teams Saturday at the Ric Sayre Invitational in North canton, Ohio.
Mount Union scored 30 points to run away with the team title. Host Walsh was second with 82 points, followed by Wooster (86), John Carroll (130) and Hiram (154).

Jacob Smith (New Richmond, OH, Covington Latin) was JCU's top runner for the second consecutive week, placing 14th in 27:10.
Jeff Sigmund (Streetsboro, OH, Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit) was next across for the Streaks with a time of 28:01, securing 23rd place.
Pat Burns (Solon, OH, Solon ) (31st, 28:39),
Nick Wojtasik (Erie, PA, Mercyhurst Prep) (38th, 29:10) and
Michael Joseph (Euclid, OH, Gilmour Academy) (41st, 29:34) rounded out the scoring runners for John Carroll.
