John Carroll could not summon a day two rally and wound up holding on to its first day standing of third place as play concluded Monday at the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational, held at Fox Meadows Country Club in Medina, Ohio.

Otterbein won with a two-day total of 618, while Mount Union was runner-up at 626. John Carroll (630), Baldwin-Wallace (631) and Ohio Northern (637) rounded out the top five.
The OAC Fall Invitational scores will be coupled with the spring tournament scores to determine a regular season league champion. Last year, John Carroll swept both the fall and spring invitationals to capture its first OAC crown since 1997.
On the individual front, three Blue Streaks earned top 25 showings. Blake Furgerson (Concord, OH, Lakewood St. Edward) used a 72 -- the low round of the day Monday -- to move up into a tie for third place at 149. Joe Zucker (Cleveland,OH, St. Ignatius) carded a two-day count of 157 to tie for 14th, while Jeff Deal (Willoughby, OH, Willoughby South) shot a 161 to tie for 25th.
