Shutout Streak And Unbeaten Streak Both Tumble For Men's Soccer At Misericordia

Joe Ciacchi and the Blue Streaks had two impressive runs end Saturday in Pennsylvania
John Carroll University saw its seven-match unbeaten streak and four-match shutout streak both go by the wayside in a 1-0 loss to Misericordia University Saturday in Dallas, Pennsylvania.

Box Score

JCU had not lost a match since a 1-0 setback to Ohio Wesleyan on September 8, and had shutout four consecutive opponents since allowing a goal in a 2-1 win over Hiram on September 12.

Joey Scanlon would be the streak-breaker when he would tally the lone goal of the contest 17 minutes into the second half. It was the first goal given up by JCU goalkeeper Mike Telzrow (Cleveland, OH, Lutheran West) in over 500 minutes of play this year.

The defending Freedom Conference champions would hold off the Streaks the rest of the way to preserve the win.

Misericordia improves to 3-3-2 with the victory, while the Streaks slip to 6-2-2.
