On a day when seniors were being honored and divers were qualifying for nationals, it still mattered to the homestanding Blue Streaks to win their final meet of the regular season.

John Carroll did just that, needing every point and performance to knock off Baldwin-Wallace, 127-116.

Results

The victory ends the Streaks 2009-2010 campaign on the winning side of the ledger. Overall, JCU amassed a record of 7-5, and in league matches ended up 3-1.

The opening relay set the tone, as Blake Pinchot, Alex Vereschagin, Eric Davis, and Jim Ranallo teamed up to win in a time of 1;41.44.

All four swimmers would win again later as individuals. Ranallo and Davis were 1-2 in the 200 free, and Davis would claim his win in the 100 Fly. Vereshchagin touched the wall first in both the 100 Free and 100 Back, while Pinchot won the 100 Back.

Also posting wins were Nick Grady in the 100 Free and Drew Edson in the 500 Free.

Diver Stanton Kochanek had a memorable day even without claiming victory. In three-meter diving, he went toe-to-toe with Yellow Jacket All-American Todd Reichert and lost by less than two points, However, his score of 477.61 was good enough to provisionally qualify him for the NCAA Division III Championships.
