Corey Shontz was honored this week with his first OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award

Corey Shontz earned Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for his efforts in wins over Baldwin-Wallace and Muskingum.
Shontz led the Blue Streaks to 2-0 record on the week by hitting the game-tying shot at the end of regulation and tallying a team-high 24 points in what became a 92-89 overtime win at Muskingum on Saturday
Earlier in the week, Shontz scored 12 of his team-high 18 points in the second half to help JCU comeback from an 18 point deficit in an 80-67 win over Baldwin-Wallace. On the week, Shontz averaged 21 points and 2.5 rebounds per -game.
Shontz is the second Blue Streaks to win this award in 2009-2010, following fellow sophomore
Matt Crozier, who picked up the prize back on November 30.
