John Carroll scored points in 13 different events to improve upon its efforts from the previous year to place in a tie for sixth at the hosted Friday and Saturday by Marietta College at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. 

Results

Ohio Northern claimed the men's title with 155 points, well ahead of runner-up Mount Union (119.50). John Carroll tied Baldwin-Wallace with 48 points.

JCU had three placewinners in the distance events. Aaron Sharp was the closest to All-OAC status, as he finished fourth in the 800-meter run (2:00.85). Jake Smith crossed the finish line in seventh place in the one-mile run (4:30.27), while Pat Burns took eighth in the 1000-meter run (2:41.75).

In the sprints and hurdles, Denny Love led the charge. In the 55-meter hurdles, Love posted a fifth-place showing with a time of 8.13.

Bill Zaccardelli completed his first collegiate indoor season by earning seventh place in the 55-meter dash (.6.65) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (23.13).

Anthony Colbert added to the cause with an eight place effort in the 400-meter dash. He also teamed with Zaccardelli, Tony Mihalich and David Hickey to place fourth in the 4 x 400 relay (3:29.60) -- marking JCU's highest finishing relay on the weekend.

In the field events, Mike Hlatky, RK Glover and Mike Minjock all had narrow misses as far as All-OAC status was concerned. Hlatky tied for fourth in the high jump by clearing 6-3 (1.92 meters). Minjock was fourth in the long jump (21-9 1/2, 6.64 meters) and eighth in the triple jump (42-8, 13.00 meters). Glover was fourth in the triple jump (44-1 1/4, 13.44 meters) and sixth in the long jump (21-5 1.4, 6.53 meters).

Bryan Wideman was also a point scorer in the long jump, placing seventh (21-4 1/4, 6.51 meters)
