John Carroll senior Blake Furgerson was named to the PING Division III Men's Golf All-American Team for the second consecutive year by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA)..

Furgerson, who was a third team selection in 2009, repeated that distinction in 2010. Furgerson earned his way back on to the All-America team thanks to a regular season stroke average of 72.8 that led the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Over the course of this season, Furgerson placed in the top ten in eight of the nine team tournaments, finished atop the field three times and was named OAC Golfer of the Week on two occassions

Capping his 2010 campaign was qualifying for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Tournament, which was held at the Hershey Links and Hershey Country Club in Hershey Pennsylvania, from May 11-14, 2010.

In being named to the 2010 PING All-American team, Furgerson was one of just 35 Division III players nationwide to be accorded that honor.

Furgerson was also honored as one of 12 All-Great Lakes Region players by the GCAA.  A total of 72 players across six regions (Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central and West) earned all-region honors for 2010.
