Nouvelles de France: Blue Streak Football Blog - Day Eight ("c'est bien fini")

The JCU Football team took time out on Memorial Day to snap a photo in front of the Arch de Triumph
Each day that the John Carroll Football Team is on its journey to and from France, Blue Streak junior Luke Whitworth will correspond through jcusports.com. His reports will be posted as soon as they are received. This entry represents day eight - c' est bien fini (it's all over)

Day 8

This will be my last update from Paris because we start our travels back to the states at 6 am tomorrow morning.

Before I tell you about today, I wanted to mention a few things I had forgot about yesterday. On Sunday morning, some players and coaches made their way to a nearby church for mass in the morning.

It was also Mothers Day here in France, So I thought I would tell all the Moms out there Happy Mothers Day from your boys in France.

Today was yet again another fantastic day for the Blue Streaks. We started the day by going to the Metro/Subway that took us to the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was built for the world fair in 1889 and consists of 7,300 Tons of Iron.

At the tower we made our way up the elevators to the very top. We had a remarkable view of Paris. We realized how big Paris really is when we were at the top because, for almost as far as we could see, the city sprawled out before us. It was truly a fantastic sight.

After the Eiffel Tower visit was over, we decided we wanted to take a short stop at the Arch de Triumph for a team photo.

Then it was free time for us to explore the city. We split off into many different groups seeing many different sights.

Due to time constraints I am sending this correspondence before we take our long anticipated boat trip, but it is sure to be a great time and a great finish to our trip. I will do one last blog for everyone about the boat ride and a closing of the trip as a whole when we land back in the states tomorrow.
