John Carroll University Men's Soccer In Canada: Day Four

| By:
York University was the site of John Carroll's first soccer match in Canada, played to a 1-1 draw

From Saturday, August 7, until Sunday, August 15th, the John Carroll men's soccer team will be plying its trade north of the border in Canada. More specifically, the Blue Streaks will be visiting, practicing and playing in venues throughout the greater Toronto metropolitan area.

Senior Jeff Kosek has agreed to supply correspondence during the team's venture.

Entry #2

Our third morning in Canada began with a light training session to prepare for the late afternoon game.  One of Coach Marinaro's Canadian friends cooked a large pasta lunch for the team, complete with sides of vegetables and potato slices.  The leftovers are in our room and we're eating more right now.

The first of our three opponents would be the Lions from York University, with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m.

York University scored early in the game off of a cross.  For the duration of the game, JCU continued to battle and controlled the majority of the possession.  After striking the crossbar and posts multiple times, JCU finally equalized in the 85th minute when Jeff Kosek (trying to stay in the correspondent's mode here) finished a loose ball near the top of the penalty box.  The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the Blue Streaks' performance showed great potential.

Our jerseys were very clean today thanks to the skills of Coach Mladenovic.
