John Carroll University Men's Soccer In Canada: Days Five And Six

| By:
The JCU men's soccer team visited Canada's Wonderland, the country's premier amusement park, on their day off Wednesday

From Saturday, August 7, until Sunday, August 15th, the John Carroll men's soccer team will be plying its trade north of the border in Canada. More specifically, the Blue Streaks will be visiting, practicing and playing in venues throughout the greater Toronto metropolitan area.

Senior Jeff Kosek has agreed to supply correspondence during the team's venture.

Entry #3

Wednesday was our day off, so we arrived at Canada's Wonderland at 10 am. The "premier theme park of Canada" includes 65 thrill rides and a large water park. The rides and slides were awesome, including the lazy river multiple times.

We won a variety of giant stuffed animals, and Thor Eriksen's weight was guessed incorrectly. He won a baby tiger.

We had a light training session Thursday morning to prepare for the evening game. A.N.B. Soccer Academy was the opponent with a kickoff at 6 p.m.

Highlights of the game include two goals from Wycliffe Odhiambo -- one goal off of a loose ball in the penalty box, and another off of Joe Ciacchi's cross. Jeff Kosek also finished a penalty kick due to the opponent's handball in the box. The game drew to a final score of 3-3.

We went out for dinner tonight to Jack Astor's, a restaurant similar to Bar Louie back home. The trays of loaded nachos were appreciated; they weren't on the table long.

Again the uniforms were fresh and clean thanks to Dejan Mladenovic.
