Welcome to the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship, hosted by John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
The 62 selections were made on November 8, the field was pared down to eight teams following regional rounds of competition on November 12-14, and those eight regional champions made their way to the finals, which were held November 19-21 at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.
When all was said and done,
Washington University prevailed in the championship match over Juniata College for its tenth national title.
Lauren Budde of Washington was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and was was joined on the all-tournament team by fellow Bears Jenny Pang and Kristen Thomas; Drew Barnhart and Steph Strauss of Juniata; Christina Cahoon of UW-Oshkosh; and Jackie Fiedler of Hope.
