2009 OAC Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals and Final

John Carroll University served as the host institution for the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball tournament semifinals and championship game, which were staged Friday and Saturday, February 27 and 28, at the DeCarlo Varsity Center in University Heights, Ohio.

In the semifinal round, #2 seed Capital defeated #3 seed Ohio Northern, 63-58 (Final Box Score / Recap), while #1 seed John Carroll knocked off #5 seed Muskingum, 83-69 (Final Box Score / Recap).

The championship game featured the top two seeds, with John Carroll prevailing over Capital, 90-87, earning the league''s automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship (Final Box Score / Recap).

John Carroll's Maurice Haynes was named the tournament Most Valuable Player, and was joined on the all-tournament team by his JCU teammate Chris Zajac, Nate Stahl and Ryan Wood from Capital, Trevor Scott of Muskingum and Kyle Meyer of Ohio Northern.

This was the third OAC tournament title in the history of the JCU program, all of which have occured since 2003.
